Ainsley Jenicek

Ainsley Jenicek, PhD(c), is an Assistant Professor at the McGill School of Social Work where she teaches in the MSW and Master of Couple and Family Therapy programs. Her research focuses on chosen families, or family-like relationships formed outside of biological and legal ties, and what these relationships mean for clinical training and practice. She is involved in various research projects, including Dr. Heather B. MacIntosh's work on Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma, and is the lead faculty member on the McGill School of Social Work committee supporting simulations-based teaching. Aside from her academic work, she maintains a trauma-informed therapy practice for couples, families, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
