Jessica Turgeon, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Psychoeducation and Psychology at UQO. Her research focuses on the mechanisms involved in the intergenerational transmission of abuse, and the factors likely to break the intergenerational cycle. During her doctoral and post-doctoral studies (funded by the FRQSC and SSHRC), she developed expertise in complex statistical analyses and systematic reviews (e.g., scoping studies, systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses). As a member of the Consortium, she hopes to carry out research projects that will have significant scientific spin-offs, and that will inform and support clinical practices with children and adolescents who have undergone traumatic childhood experiences. Her current research aims to identify moderating or mediating factors in the association between the parent's adverse experiences and difficulties in the child's adaptive functioning.
