Maria Pavlova

Maria Pavlova, PhD, RPsych, is a clinical psychologist and a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She completed her PhD under the mentorship of Dr. Melanie Noel at the University of Calgary, and she completed her pre-doctoral residency with Alberta Children’s Hospital in 2022-2023. With the support of a CIHR Fellowship, Maria is continuing her research in the area of pediatric pain and childhood maltreatment with Dr. Nicole Racine at the Early Lab (uOttawa). Maria’s research has broadly focused on the role of individual and family factors in the context of pediatric pain and child maltreatment. Her research is dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families by empowering them through evidence-based, validating, equitable, and inclusive care.
