La Traversée

Created in 1984, La Traversée is a psychosocial support and psychotherapy centre for victims suffering from mental health issues resulting from sexual abuse. Three types of services are offered: individual psychosocial support and follow-up, psychotherapy and group services. The center provides free, non-discriminatory support to all Montérégie residents, regardless of gender or age, and nearly half of those helped are children and their families. Since 2023, La Traversée has coordinated and hosted on its premises the Centre de services intégrés en violence sexuelle (CIViS), a project co-sponsored with CAVAC de la Montérégie and the Service de police de l'agglomération de Longueuil, which facilitates the psycho-socio-judicial and therapeutic trajectory of people who have been victims of sexual violence.
